Hello everyone and welcome to my ‘About Me’ post!
I am Anannya Balachandran, a grade 11 student at Dr. Charles Best Secondary School, Coquitlam BC. This is my 3rd year taking Social Responsibility which means I have taken it all throughout high school till now. My favourite part about this course is getting to read other peoples posts’ from around the world and get to know them just by their research!
For a little about me, I was originally born in New Delhi, India and moved to Canada in grade 6 (2018). I visited for the first time since moving this past summer and loved every bit of it! Living across the world sure has been a big change but a positive one in my eyes! Getting to have 2 separate lives and 2 places to call home is something I consider a blessing and a huge part of who I am. In the last couple years, I have gotten toknow myself better and figure out who I really am! I love socializing and meeting new people. I love caring for and helping people whenever they need. And I adore all the friendships I now have.
Along with a couple things I love, some of my hobbies include, writing, baking, listening to music and traveling! Music is something super close to my heart.I believe, music is for everyone. No matter what one’s personality is like or what they enjoy, there is always something they can find in the field of music. Not a single day of mine goes by without me listening to my favourite playlists and I could not be happier having it that way.
Ever since I was little, I used to travel all over the globe. Because of how often I used to travel growing up, I developed a love for it. Seeing the world, seeing how gorgeous parts of each continent, and mind blowing sunsets are just some of the reasons I love to travel. My hope, is to continue to travel for as long as I can and continue making memories with those around me. Along with listening to music and baking, I also like to play the guitar and cook! I tend to do these things to de-stress and have some me time when I think school’s getting too much or I have enough on my plate. I am always up to try to play a new song (beginner level) and try a new recipe as long as it sounds interesting to me!
Music is also something that connects me to my community and my culture. In my opinion, community cannot have a one sentence definition. Community means so much to me. It means having a family away from home, it means feeling a sense of belonging wherever you are, and it means being happy with the people around you. I am so grateful to have found mine and could not be happier with it.
So there is a little about me! I cannot wait to share my blog posts with you these upcoming semesters and for you to get to know me better!
Thank you for reading my about me, until next time!
