My inquiry project for this semester is Fashion Throughout History and how fashion has evolved over time and changed our society.
I am interested to learn more about the different fashions and how past decades of fashion resemble itself today and have influenced designers or trends.
Research step 1: Fashion now compared to then.
I am starting my research by simply looking at fashion trends now and what some of the most famous designers have taken influence from TODAY, then compare to what old designers from the early 1900’s and previous years have created and what they have taken inspiration from.
Research step 2: how do the past decades of fashion resemble today?
We have seen history repeat itself in fashion, an example of this could be early 2000’s low rise flared jeans becoming more trending again in 2022. I am curious if the “history repeating itself in fashion” was a thing in the early to mid 1900’s as well.
Research step 3: What impact do celebrities and influencers have on fashion?
I was interested in this question because a lot of our influence from style (more likely teenagers/young adults) have been influenced by many celebrities and influencers style whether it was dress up or dress down and many celebrities and influencers work with designers too so designers may have had an impact on what famous people that have worked them have worn.
