Hi! My name is Hannah, and I am a grade 9 student at Dr. Charles Best Secondary School. I am new to the school so this is my first time taking this class. I am interested in doing an inquiry project this semester. I am looking forward to learning new things about my topic of interest, meeting new people, and trying new things.
I have always been a huge music lover, music is a type of art I’ve always seen as a way to show emotion. As for myself, I have always enjoyed listening to pop, rock, alternative and r&b. You cannot catch me without my earbuds at home. However, pop and r&b are the genres that I listen to the most. I enjoy listening to artists like Ariana Grande, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, Madison Beer, and Lana Del Rey. I first started listening to Ariana Grande when I was only 7 and ever since I have been one of her biggest fans, in 2019 I attended her Sweetener World Tour and it was one of the best days of my entire life. Music has always made me feel safe and happy and can fit any emotions you are feeling because there are so many different genres and styles.
Not only do I enjoy listening to music but I have also had passion in writing music. It would be one of my dreams to write a song or album with an artist one day or write music of my own. Another future job I would love to have is voice acting, it is one of my dreams to voice an animated character since watching animated kids TV shows is one of my hobbies when I am bored.
One thing you might not know about me is that I played softball for many years of my life. It was my passion for as long as I can remember. I grew up living in Surrey and played on T-ball Surrey and Delta teams. When I was 7 I moved to Coquitlam and started playing for Coquitlam house teams until I was 13 (I am 14 now). This year I decided to take a break because I had been out on the field for 8 and a half years. I am considering finding a new sport to play to become my new passion.
I cannot wait to start this course and more. I am so excited to start Butterfly since I have heard nothing but positive feedback from it. Thank you for taking your time to read about me, I cannot wait to get started.
