Blog #6: Reflection
a. What challenges did you overcome throughout this inquiry project? How did you go about
overcoming these challenges?
Throughout this inquiry project one of the challenges that I had to overcome was sometimes a lack of information and resources that were easy for me to comprehend. Sometimes I would find a website or article that would be very useful, but it had quite a few complex words that I did not fully understand. To overcome this challenge, I would look up the words I did not understand in an online dictionary, or I would go on searching for another website/article that has similar contents that could be easier to comprehend.
- How did this inquiry change the way you think?
This inquiry changed the way I looked at selfishness, how people around me are acting, and how I am acting. It changed the way I look at selfishness. Before this inquiry project I believed that selfishness was something that was rooted in our “human nature” therefore something that all humans possessed, later to find out that in reality is not true.
- How did this investigation impact your future decisions?
This investigation made me think about how being selfish affects others around me, as well as myself. In the future I think I will be less judgmental while others are making selfish decisions or acting in self-serving ways as now, I know that from our systems to our culture it is very hard not to be selfish. While keeping this in mind I think I will also try to be more mindful of how I am acting, as I said it is very hard not to act selfish, thus making it even more important to really think about what you are doing before you are going to do it.
- What impact will this investigation have on others locally and/or globally?
This investigation can help others locally and/or globally by helping change their perspective on the way humans act the way that they are, in turn this can help them try to act in less self-serving ways .
