Inquiry question: Should we clone humans?
a) What challenges did you overcome throughout this inquiry project? How did you go about overcoming these challenges?
I definitely ran into the challenge of finding reputable sources! Many sources I looked at were either old articles or just websites that did not seem reputable! The only way I was able to find reputable sources was just to keep looking! I typed in different keywords in hopes to find a reputable source! Over time, I was able to find some reputable sources. Another challenge was during my second and third round of research. I looked into disadvantages and advantages, however, a lot of websites contained the same information so it was really difficult to find many advantages and disadvantages to cloning! Once again, over time I kept looking into different websites and was able to find more disadvantages and advantages to cloning!
b) How did this inquiry change the way you think?
I believe this inquiry research on cloning changed the way I think as I am now really able to understand in some sense how the world would be like with clones! What scientists can do with these clones which can provide so many solutions to diseases and such! I really think that this iniquiry opened my mind with how clones may feel and how it can really impact this world with the good and bad! Scientists have still not cloned a whole human being, but just imagine what would happen if they were able to.
c) How did this investigation impact your future decisions?
I believe this investigation impacted my future decision. For instance, if we are able to have the decision whether we should have clones or not, I would be able to provide my perspective and say what I want.I would probably do even more research, but with current information I have, I can form my opinion and look at the pros and cons of cloning to decide whether we should have clones in our world!
d) What impact will this investigation have on others locally and/or globally?
I believe this will impact others as knowing some information about cloning such as the advantages and disadvantages, people will be able to decide whether we should be cloning humans or not. This can impact others as deciding whether we should clone humans is a big deal! It can really change the world for the better or the worse! We can cure diseases, but we may encounter ethical issues down the lane! There is so much to learn about cloning that scientists have yet to discover!
