I go by name Juma Brian. I’m a recent graduate with a B.Sc in Biotechnology from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology.
My improbable journey in BE began when I was in Tigithi Boys High School, now my Alma mater. Here, I was amongst the first cohort (Back in 2013). Being in Butterfly effect, propelled me to thrive well in the field of academia. To begin with, My skills in science got catapulted. I was able to think big and do more interms of project. This gave me the basis of settling at my career (Biotechnology) after missing Medicine with some cluster points. I mean BE was a hallmark of it all as Science to me was not fate, but passion 🙂

Meanwhile, I am a dynamic and versatile scientist with extensive hands on experience. I holds a broad set of analytical and technical skills. My expertise cuts across many areas of science that utilize in vivo ex-vivo and invitro skills and abilities. I’m a strategist able to focus on key issues and results to meet organizational priorities and make the necessary critical decisions to see them through. I hold vast technical skills and knowledge in molecular biology, Cell biology , microbiology, biopharmaceuticals, genetics, immunology, biochemistry, biophysics, parasitology amongst other subsets in biotechnology.

Firstly, thank you for the kind sentiments. About 3D Designs, i developed passion whilst i was on my final year in Campus through Bioinformatics ( one of the units i did) . I enjoyed designing and printing prototypes now that the institution had a 3D printing Lab. Actually, Part of my undergraduate project was “3D Printing of a Robotic Arm” where i further inculcated some IT skills (programming) to bring forth automation. This arm can be used by amputees to help them do some basic duties. There was nothing most fulfilling to me than seeing the arm make some strides. Right now, i would really love to shift focus to robotics.

I really enjoyed reading your post! 3D printing is a very interesting thing. I recently tried it out and it’s truly incredible to watch the machine print a 3D object! As for your passion in reading, do you have any favourite books?
Congratulations on your degree in Biotechnology! I too, adore this topic. I saw that you mentioned your interest in genetics. What are your thoughts about genetic editing? It is a very controversial, and broad, topic. I am curious to see what you think!

Hey, I trust that you’re having a lovely week, Jasmine! Amazing to note where your heart is. Surely, Science is supper cool, and you wanna thrive best; if you love it. Setting your foot into sth should first begin on the basis of passion, unless otherwise. There’s more you’ll discover once you take that trajectory in cell biology or anatomy. It keeps on getting fun as you unravel many mysteries in science. About my future job, I want to create a space that will be a hub to secure tomorrow. By this i means, i would love to join science researchers globally in finding solutions to various problems affecting mankind. However, i strongly have a desire to begin with Lab and later on join corporate (moreso in drug development)
