My name is Joseph Mugo, and I am 16 years old. I live in Nanyuki, Laikipia County, Kenya. I am a student at Thome Boys Secondary School. My favorite subject is Biology because it connects me to my passion of becoming a doctor.
One thing that makes me different from others is that I can preach, even though I am young. This work is often seen as something meant for older people, but I ignore these expectations and keep moving forward. My passion is to excel in all areas of life.
I strongly believe that my role in the community is to be a spiritual mentor to those in need of hearing the word of God and the hope that it brings.
My strongest attribute is that I am merciful and passionate about helping others. I have joined the Red Cross to improve in this area of serving people.
If I had a job now, I would be working in medicine because that is the career I am pursuing. The world also needs physical healing, and I imagine that I would be in a position to save lives and relieve pain. During my free time, I enjoy reading books related to my career, like those written by Ben Carson. I also relax by focusing on one thing, like watching movies.
My heroes are the people who have sponsored me, as they have given me the opportunity to receive a high-quality education. I would like to take this moment to thank them for helping me get to where I am today and for making this possible.
I invite you all to engage with my research and provide feedback.

Hi Joseph,
This is a really great post, and I learned a lot about you! I can tell how passionate you are about your interests and future career. I also want to pursue medicine, so it’s great we have that in common. I think that your commitment to becoming a doctor while also being a spiritual mentor shows a great balance of compassion and ambition. Your desire to help others and your gratitude toward those who have supported you in your education is something many can learn from. Keep pursuing your dreams! – Perla (Dr. Charles Best Secondary School, British Columbia, Canada)
