Action Blog Post 2

As I stated in by Blog Post 1, I will be running a bottle drive. I will post on Instagram and around the school about the bottle drive to try and encourage people to participate. We will also do a park cleanup to collect even more bottles. Once we have all of the bottles, we will take them to Return it Depo. The money we raise from that will then be donated to the Wildlife Rescue Association of BC.

During this process, we will most likely face some complications. Two of the main complications that may come up in this action are: – Getting people to participate and give us their bottles. Some people might think that this is pointless and that they would rather keep the money for themselves. -Getting the bottles from where we collected them to the bottle depo. Me nor any of my partners are able to drive so this might be difficult.

This action is very sustainable. By collecting and cleaning up the bottles we are:- keeping more recyclable plastic out of landfill. – Helping injured and polluted wildlife by donating money to them. -Keeping our city clean and healthy. and much more.

There are many things that this action provides opportunity to. Some are: – The injured and polluted wildlife. – Wildlife technicians and the people working at the Wildlife Rescue Association of BC. – The plastic being recycled. – And the people in our community.

  1. Hi Yula,
This is a fantastic idea for an action project! Last year I did something similar to your idea of bottle drives but mainly focused on park clean-ups. I’m glad you are taking it one step further by recycling the bottles and donating the money made to Wildlife Rescue. A question I have for you is what are some goals you have with how much money you are hoping to raise? Furthermore, make sure to check the weather app before you do the park-clean ups because I remember when I was doing a project like this the weather always made it challenging. So make sure you are prepared for that. Below I have provided a link that shares ideas on how to make park-clean ups more efficient, so I would definitely check that out as well. Best of luck with your project!
