Hi everyone! My name is Mahdiya Adnan and I am a grade 12 student at Dr. Charles Best Secondary in BC, Canada. This is my fourth year taking this Social Responsibility class. I am 17 years old and my favourite subject is English 12 because I love to write.
I chose to join the Social Responsibility class because I want to make a difference in my community. I believe that everyone wants change, but when it comes time to make a difference, only a few people take action. These past three years I have done action projects where I have helped individuals experiencing homelessness, volunteered at my previous middle school and participated in park clean-ups.
My passion is playing basketball and doing boxing. I’ve been playing basketball for many years now and my favourite player is Kyrie Irving. I consider myself an athletic person so I am always trying to stay fit. In my free time, I enjoy going to the gym and listening to music. My favourite musical artist is Future.
My strongest trait is loyalty. I believe that the most important quality to search for in a person is loyalty. You should only surround yourself with individuals who will be there for you when you are at your lowest and will speak up for you and defend your name when you are not around. Therefore, I would like my best friends to be loyal as well so that I can count on them whenever needed. Another quality I possess is determination because no matter how difficult things get, I always try to continue since you never know how much you are capable of doing unless you don’t give up.
If I could have any job right now it would be a dermatologist because I take pride in my skincare routine, and I always try to help my friends start routines of their own. Therefore, I think it would be so fascinating to help others feel confident in their skin as well.
