Action Blog Post #3 Part 2

With my action project so far I did a park clean-up around a school named Pacific Academy. I invited my dad and brother to help me collect garbage. We walked around for 1 hour picking up litter on Tuesday evening after my practice.

One success I had was good weather conditions because it was sunny outside; therefore, it made picking up garbage easier. Another success I had was convincing my brother and dad to come help me with this project. The reason this was a success is because they both had busy schedules, but were still able to support me and with their help, we all efficiently collected litter than if I just went by myself. Moreover, implementing this action project after my practice was also a success because I was tired after. However, I was still able to persevere through the exhaustion and meet the deadlines I set.

A challenge I faced was finding a lot of garbage because the place I was walking around was a private school that kept its grounds fairly clean. I overcame this by not giving up and exploring the parks near it where I found more litter. Another obstacle that occurred was the time this project was done. This is because my practice ended later than expected, so it was almost dark outside. However, I overcame this by working quickly with my family and staying close to them. Lastly, a challenge I faced was dressing appropriately for the weather because even though it was sunny I forgot to pack my outside shoes, so I was walking around in my slides. For next time I can overcome this by packing my extra pair of shoes in the car.

Next for my action project, I plan to go to a park near Bothwell Gym to pick up garbage. I plan to go after practice again and this time I will try to bring my teammates along to cover more ground in less time.
