Why do we need to worry about gamma ray bursts, and why not.

I  have an extreme interest in space and what happens in space. And it’s important to know and understand what Gamma Ray Bursts (GRB) are. So we can understand that the odds of a GRB hitting us are extremely in our favor. But that doesn’t make it impossible. And that this is a disaster that we should think about the same way as asteroids comets solar flares etc.
