Hi everyone

My action is selling baked goods in order to raise money for the BCSPCA. So far, I have baked and sold 20 cookies for my dad’s colleagues at UBC, charging fifty cents per cookie. I think that it’s a good start to my action project and I’m ready for the next steps.
A success I had was selling all 20 of the cookies my dad took to work. They were all eaten within three hours and people even texted him telling him they liked them. I was super excited about this because I had used a new recipe, and it paid off in the end. Another success I had was the money I earned from that. Since I charged fifty cents for one cookie, selling twenty puts ten dollars towards my goal of sixty dollars. That’s one sixth of my goal, I’m taking that as a huge success after only one sale.

One challenge I had was that I tried a new cookie recipe, and it didn’t work out the way I hoped. The cookies wouldn’t fully bake no matter what I did. I kept putting them back in the oven, but they stayed too soft in the middle. I started to get stressed because my dad was supposed to take them to work the next morning. In the end, I used the air fryer to finish baking them just before he left. It worked, and people still liked them, but it was a bit of a disaster at first. Next time, I’ll try new recipes earlier, so I have time to fix any problems before I need them. Or I can stick to safe recipes that I know already.
I chose the BCSPCA because I want to support animals in need and help give them better lives. My goal is to raise sixty dollars. Since my first sale went well, I’m planning to bake more and take more orders from friends, family, and neighbours. I’m also thinking about trying out other baked goods like brownies, muffins and cakes to give people more options.

It feels really good to know that something as simple as baking can help make a difference in animal’s lives. I’m excited to keep going and hopefully reach my goal or surpass it soon.
Thanks for reading, I’m looking forward to the next steps!
