Blog post #2 : What effects (long-term and short-term) does child neglect/abuse have later in life on adults?

For my question, I will be researching three areas about how child neglect affects the mental health, social development, and physical health (short-term and long-term). These categories are the best way to research effects of child neglect effectively and deeply. The mental health of people who have been abused or neglected can either show immediately (anxiety and depression) or later in life like PTSD; moreover, the social development of people going through neglect and abuse can be slowed down as they might be aggressive or manipulative with peers while later in life, other tend to be withdrawn from others around them and possibly have unhealthy or toxic relationships. The physical health of these experiencing abuse can be poor as they tend to have bruises and scratches and not tend to their hygiene while later on in their lives they might be learning how to help themselves with physical appearance and health.

Some sources that might be helpful to me later in this project:

2. https://www.apa.org

3. https://ispcan.org

4. https://www.who.int/

5. https://www.helpguide.org/relationships/domestic-abuse/child-abuse-and-neglect

This will implicate others in my community or around me as they can see how abuse can effect individuals or be more informed about the signs that someone has been or is going through abuse and neglect. This will also implicate others as they will be more informed to help their peers get out of the abusive situation they are in.
