My 3 most important values are reliability, personal growth, and opportunity.
My least 3 important values are community, power, and tradition.
I mostly agree with these results. My most significant values are correct because I believe it’s essential to rely on others and be someone they can depend on. I also strive for self-improvement, developing my talents, and maintaining my mental well-being. Nowadays, I also make a huge effort to seize opportunities since you miss 99% of the shots you don’t take. Two of the three values I ranked as least significant align with my perspective. I value belonging to a community because it provides support and shared growth, but I don’t place much importance on power. This is because I believe in individual freedom as long as it doesn’t harm others. Tradition is also less significant to me because growth sometimes requires letting go of old ways to find better ones. I thought the statements were good generally, but I felt like some of them were too similar, which could contradict people’s perceptions. For example, I believe that family, friendship, and community should not be separated because they all emphasize the importance of human ties. To me, reliability means standing by others through thick and thin, opportunities represent pathways to success, and personal growth is about striving to be better every day. One example of me embracing my values is when I decided to pursue a job opportunity, allowing me to earn extra money for my hobbies. Another example is using the value of personal growth every night because I take time out of my day to eat a decent meal, do skin care, read, journal, stretch, and pray. The result of this is being more happy and calm the next day.
After analyzing the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, I feel like the “life on land” goal aligns with my most important values. This is because we need to take care of nature as much as we rely on it, and we need to help our ecosystems grow for it to be more beneficial for us and future generations. Moreover, to create more opportunities for ourselves and others we need to protect our environment to thrive off its resources. This goal is also my passion because I want to take care of my habitat more after noticing how much we take the outdoors for granted. I would like to do an action project that consists of doing nature clean-ups. This includes picking up litter from around oceans, schools, and parks.
