Hi everyone, and welcome to my blog! In this new inquiry project, I will be looking into Canadian infrastructure and how it could be developed to lessen traffic.
Traffic congestion is a major problem especially in big cities like Toronto, Winnipeg, Montreal and Vancouver. This topic interests me because it affects my parents’ lives and most likely my own future day to day life. I don’t live in Vancouver; however, I do live in Greater or Metro Vancouver (for those who aren’t from here or just don’t know it is the cities/area around Vancouver). My mom works at a hospital in downtown Vancouver, and we live in the Coquitlam (suburban) area. At peak traffic, during rush hour, it takes her 2 hours to commute what is normally a 30-minute drive. I think this is crazy and it shouldn’t be like this. That’s why I’m curious about why this happens and how we could fix it.

My main focus will be metro Vancouver since that is where I live and have the most personal experience and knowledge of. However, I will be looking to other cities for examples, differences, and to prove points.
