The hardest part of this project was picking the right debates for this project. I wanted it to be pretty topical cause I think politics, especially recent ones, are very important to developing out our society. But what was the most helpful was going back through previous political debates and picking out my favorites. I am luckily old enough to remember a time of Obamas debates and recognize a time where politics weren’t so divisive and innocent as comparing the candidates with something as silly as pieces of food.
This was actually a pretty eye opening experience for me since to be honest, it’s been a pretty long time since I’ve been interested in my own politics and its really fun going back through it because it was like I was saying in the beginning that politics are very important to talk about even if you might not like it.
I really hope that to anyone that reads this can appreciate and learn that maybe politics don’t need to be so serious in terms of their personality, but instead be something to appreciate and talk more about especially if you’re a young person. If you’ve ended up reading my short story I hope you come away with it with knowing what your parties actually do and if they align with your own. And I hope this short story might’ve peaked your political interests at least. Overall, I had a lot of fun writing this one and can’t wait to work on the next one.
