Blog post #7-In the end

In my action project, me and my two partners did a bottle drive. We picked up bottles, recycled them, and went to Return-It Depo in exchange for money. Me and my group made around 61$ and donated it to the Wildlife Rescue Association of BC. The money went more specifically to bird rescue gear.

For my project, me and my group had a few challenges overall, but the biggest challenge overall was rearranging are schedules. To be more specific, we had issues finding times where we all could go pick up bottles together, and it wasn’t always about schedules. We also had issues due to weather. Some days it rained and others it snowed, and the days where we had nice weather, we were busy. So, we had to pick up bottles on our own.

From this project, I realized that bottle drives take a lot more work then expected. The main reason I say this is because the main difficulty is planning, which is something more difficult than I thought. Before, I thought the bottle drive was going to be very easy and thought that we would be ready and done in no time, but that was not the case. Sure, it was very good way to make a decent amount of money in a pretty simple way, which is something I also realized, but overall I learned that bottle drives take a lot of work.

This bottle drive showed me the importance of recycling. Sure, it’s pretty obvious that recycling is important, but I got to research all about it, and I learned a lot more things about it. Bottle drives help reduce the waste found on the ground.
