For those who are new, my and my partners decided we wanted to donate money to the Wildlife Rescue Association of BC. This is an organization that helps injured, orphaned, and pollution-damaged wildlife. To get the money to donate, we donated the bottles we had at our houses and did a park clean up to collect even more bottles. The reason we are collecting the bottles is to keep them from landfill and stop them from being polluted. We did this to not only raise money, but to raise awareness so that others can also work on helping these animals.

a. What challenges did you overcome throughout this action project? How did you go about
overcoming these challenges?
Through out the process of our action project, we faced multiple different challenges. One of the biggest challenge we had to face was doing the park clean up. Unfortunately, we waited too long to do the park clean up, so we ended up having to do it in the snow. Because of all the snow, most of the bottles that would usually be in the park, we all buried in snow, or thrown away. Therefor, we made a little bit less money from the park clean up than we had hoped for.

b. How did this action change the way you think?
This action project changed the way I think about the earth, the people living here, and all the garbage and other materials stored on our planet. Though this was an action project, I still did research on plastic and other materials ruining the earth. I learnt that if we don’t take action soon, our planet will be destroyed. We are not only ruining the earth for ourselves, but also the other animals living here with us. I also learnt that a lot of people are very uneducated about recycling and plastic. Some plastics that can be recycled are often thrown away which can cause a lot of problems. After this action project, I think more strongly about not using too much plastic, and being more careful when sorting your garbage.

c. How did this investigation/action impact your future decisions?
After this project, I will chose too buy and use less plastic, and when I do use plastic, I will properly sort it into the correct bin. I will also try my best to do more research on this subject and educate as many people as possible.

d. What impact will this investigation/action have on others locally and/or globally?
I hope that my project impacted other people the same way as it impacted me. Hopefully people are a little bit more educated on recycling and plastics and if they are not, I hope this motivates them to do more research and put more effort in to taking care of our planet.
