Blog Post 7 – Metamorphosis (Reflection) -Cookies for a cause

I overcame challenges such as not being able to make frosting as well as I wanted, not having enough change, advertising properly, having treats on hold and keeping them on hold. I overcame baking challenges by taking a break instead of getting frustrated and re-doing it after, taking more time and concentration or using the same thing I messed up and just learning to work with it. I learned to also advertise properly by doing popular trends to promote bake sale and the club, overcoming the advertisement issue. Lastly, whenever we didn’t have enough change we would either turn away customers or would ask for change from the cafeteria by trading bills to coins; also, we figured out a system on how to remember things are on hold by putting a note on it with all the information and keeping it off the table.

This action changed the way I think by making me see how to advertise properly as it forced me to research ways on how other companies and businesses advertise. It also helped me improve my baking skills and mindset as I realize now baking is a type of science, if you don’t put the exact amount of what it says, then it won’t turn out the way you want it.

This action impacted my future decisions by making me think if I actually wanted to buy something because I wanted it or because it was a trend or marketing strategy making me want it.

This action had an impact on other locally as we raised and are still raising money towards Children’s BC Hospital to help kids get the help they need. This also helped raise awareness around us to encourage other to join us or just donate towards the same cause.

Overall, this action project really made me learn about clubs, organizations, baking.
