For my project, I decided to research the question “How does social media and influencers affect the fashion industry when it comes to teenage girls?”
This question is of interest to me as because I believe that social media often tends to have negative effects on many teenage girls, and can control the interests of what many believe based off popularity/fame. Social media also sets unrealistic beauty standards that take a large toll on teenagers lives. This caught my attention because it is very common for girls my age to be heavily persuaded on a topic based off an individual with fame, and often leads to many beauty standards that these teenagers feel they need to qualify for.
As I am on social media, I have also seen many influencers say negative things on one item which later causes many to agree based off that one person. These opinions later effect more and more people just based off the media and what they think. This was one of my main interests over all because it is very common amongst many individuals.
