Hello! My name is Maisie Wylie. I am a Grade 9 student in the French Immersion program at Dr. Charles Best Secondary in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada. I was born in New West Minster, but I currently reside in Coquitlam. I live in a house with my parents, my younger sister, and my dog. My mom was born in Hong Kong, but she moved to Richmond, B.C., after she grew up. My dad is from a small town in Alberta.
I do competitive figure skating for six days a week, I have been figure skating since I was four, and I am currently in the level Pre-Novice. I go skating for around four hours after school every day. I really like food, and some of my favourite dishes are savoury sticky rice, Japanese chicken curry, and bok choy and gai lan. Most of those meals are typical Chinese dishes, and I have Chinese food most of the time. When I’m not skating or doing homework, I read fantasy/dystopian books. My favourite series include: The Bloom Trilogy, The Hunger Games, Divergent, The Unwanteds, and Keeper of the Lost Cities. In case it’s not shown by my love for reading, English is my favourite school subject.
Some things I do to relax are to listen to K-drama OST music, walk through the forest, and do Korean and Japanese sheet masks. I have always listened to music whenever I could, so I listen to calming and soft K-drama songs to relax. I also love nature; I find that the fresh air clears my mind and makes me happy. I’m also a huge K-beauty fan, so I enjoy doing sheet masks and rice masks whenever I have the chance. Also, I love playing Minecraft with my cousins. I am not very good at any PVP combat, but I create many machines with redstone. I also enjoy creating gardens and mansions, or simply fighting the ender dragon. I have fun exploring all the new updates, though all the new additions can be very confusing at first.
I am most interested in the Inquiry Prong of the butterfly effect because I am a naturally curious person. I often wonder many random thoughts that I have no answer to. So, through an Inquiry Project, I hope to find a detailed explanation to one of my various questions.
Thank you for reading my About Me Post! I hope you found something interesting!
