My name is Ishani Balachandran, and I am a 15-year-old grade 10 student attending Charles Best Secondary. I currently live in Coquitlam, BC, with my parents and older sister. My favourite subjects at school are either English or Social Studies, as they share many similarities, and I enjoy expressing my thoughts and ideas through writing.
If you could have any job right now what would it be and why?
Ever since I was a child, it was always my dream to become a Corporate Lawyer. Law has always been something that has interested me and a career path that has always been close to my heart. Additionally, since a majority of people in my family are lawyers, throughout my life, I have been able to see how much this career has impacted them and changed their way of thinking. Seeing their passion and love for their career made me eager to pursue a career in the same field. As I got older, I began researching the various aspects of becoming a lawyer and decided I would try my best to become a Corporate Lawyer. As a lawyer, I want to make changes in the world and help impact people’s lives. I hope to make a name for myself and persevere through all the challenges I face along the way.
Furthermore, I believe a lot of my personality traits match the personality traits of a lawyer. I have always been an extremely outgoing, defensive, and strong-minded person. I also believe it’s important to fight for what you believe is right and know how important it is to fight for the people who can’t fight for themselves.
What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my friends, exploring new places and listening to music. My friends and family mean a lot to me and are a crucial part of my life. I love talking to my friends, visiting different places with them and getting to know new people. Additionally, I believe friendships are an extremely important part of all of our lives. Friends can define who we are, and change our thoughts and opinions about other people. When I’m with my friends and family, I enjoy visiting and exploring new places. Additionally, one of my favourite things to do is travel. The joy of visiting a new country, and getting to explore and experience the different cultures is so fascinating. Moreover, one of my other pastimes and favourite hobbies is listening to music. Listening to music and getting to hear different artists, genres and songs is out of this world.
What is your strongest attribute or trait?
I believe one of my strongest traits is being extroverted and extremely talkative. As an extrovert, it’s easy for me to talk to people and make new connections. Having the ability to talk to people and engage in conversations easily helps me gain social connections along with communication skills. It also helps me work with others and take on leadership roles in my community. It’s also easy for me to listen to others and ensure everyone feels included in a group setting. Being an extrovert allows you to learn new things and learn from different perspectives.
