Blog Post #7; Reflection

  1. What challenges did you overcome throughout this inquiry project? How did you go about overcoming these challenges?

While working on this project, I faced countless challenges and worked hard to overcome them. One of the main challenges was creating sub-questions to help answer my main inquiry without being repetitive. To overcome these challenges, I had to alter and change my sub-questions as I went along with my blog posts. For my first post, I realized the answer to my question was a combination of my first and second inquiry sub-question. Because of this, I had to slightly change the rest of my questions. Another difficult part of this inquiry project was finding enough information to support the answers to my question. This was difficult because I wanted to make sure the work and blog posts were well done.

2. How did this inquiry change the way you think?

When I first started this inquiry I never understood truly how music can affect our brains. After conducting research, I understood that music can impact not only our moods but also our lives. This made me realize how important music is in everyone’s lives and how diverse it is. I also understood why people feel so connected to certain songs, rhythms and artists. Additionally, while learning about the ways music can help you or change your life, I also learnt about how music can help you remember. Music is often used as a tool to help Dementia or Alzheimer’s patients remember certain things. This made me realize that music can impact a person in more ways than one.

3. How did this investigation impact your future decisions?

This inquiry helped me learn that music has more than one impact on our lives and can change the way we act and feel for the better. It impacts my future decisions as it helped me learn how it can be used as a tool for anxiety and mental health.

4. What impact will this investigation have on others locally and/or globally?

This topic will hopefully help others understand more about the impacts of music on a person and their mind. This will help others learn why music is so special to everyone and how its variety in genres, artists, rhythms and instruments is what makes it so incredible. It will also impact others by helping them learn how to use music as a tool for self-expression and stress relief. This inquiry will teach people why music is such a universal topic almost everyone can find a way to relate to and enjoy. It will also inform people about the various benefits of listening to music.
