Blog Post #7 – Metamorphosis (Reflection)

Hi everyone! this is going to be my last blog post of this semester. i did an action project so that i could teach the new generation about recycling and the importance of it. making sure these kids are aware of climate change and inspire them into do recycling as a way of changing our planet for the better. i had lots of fun doing an action project this semester and learned lots.

a. What challenges did you overcome throughout this action project? How did you go about
overcoming these challenges? if I’m being honest the biggest challenge was getting together and planning everything for our action project. we lacked a bit in our communication but at the end we where able to work it out and meet sometime in a classroom. we were all busy with school and sports so figured out it was best to meet up at lunch.
b. How did this action change the way you think? this action made me learn lots about recycling itself and about others. i learned that not many kids knew about recycling and would just put garbage/waste in any of the bins since nobody had taught them. this made me realize that we need to teach more kids about recycling.
c. How did this investigation/action impact your future decisions? this action project made me want to continue volunteering and starting a club about recycling with some of my other classmates. we found that we are passionate about this and want to teach others. that is why we want to continue going to elementary schools and teaching kids about recycling making the presentation and activity even more interesting.
d. What impact will this investigation/action have on others locally and/or global? this action made me do more research locally so that i can teach others about how recycling is done here in B.C and show them its important not to just cross-contaminate recycling. me and my others classmates were able to make a small change locally by remind some elementary schools about recycling!

-THANK-YOU HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!
