Action Blog Post #4

Hi everyone and welcome back to my blog. In today’s post, I am going to be going over my plan of action for my group’s action, which is a presentation at a local elementary school.

We are going to be giving a presentation about the proper ways to recycle and reduce your personal waste. We will show a PowerPoint presentation and put together games for the students to test their learning. For the games, we will probably do a Kahoot or some other type of quiz game.

In the presentation we will give, we will explain how to properly sort your waste and recycling. Schools and other public spaces often provide sets of different bins for you to sort your waste. These bins are normally black, grey, green and blue. However, we have found from experience that we are never really taught how to properly sort your garbage into these bins. Having the different options is a very good thing, but if no one knows how to use them, then they will not have the effect that they are intended to.

Through our action, we hope to give kids a better understanding of recycling and why it is important. Everyone had a different opinion about climate change and what we can do to help, but we hope to give the kids enough information to make an informed

decision about what they think is right.

This presentation will be the final step of my action project for this semester. In the next blog post, I will summarize how the presentation went as well as what I have learned from completing this action. Thank you so much for reading this blog post!
