Hi everyone and welcome back to my page. In today’s blog post, I will be reflecting on my action project so far as well as sharing some of my next steps moving forward.
Since my action project is all about teaching kids how to properly recycle and about recycling’s benefits, the first part of my action is to share what I do on my own time to recycle and how I do it. Reflecting on this will help me connect more to my action, and I can also share some recycling tips with the kids during the presentation, which will be the final part of this action.
When recycling, it is important to sort your things and not throw all of your recycling into one big bin. I try to sort my recycling into three groups. I have a bin for plastic recycling and things like water bottles and cans, another bin for paper and cardboard recycling, one for plastic bags and one for Styrofoam. Sorting your recycling like this makes it easier for your things to get properly recycled. If you are recycling things like batteries or electronics, it is very important to take them to a recycling depot separately.
Recycling this way can be challenging, because it takes more time and effort than just putting all your waste in the garbage, but it is very important for our Earth for people to do things like this. And in the long run, doing little things like this to help with climate change could be very beneficial.
Thanks so much for reading my post! See you next time.
Hey Penelope,
I enjoyed reading your blog post! I also agree with you that it is important to recycle properly because it is crucial to keep our environment clean and wildlife safe. A question I have for you is what are the biggest challenges that come with teaching kids to recycle properly? I would love to know! Furthermore, I noticed that you were going to share some recycling tips in your next blog post, so I have provided a couple of links below that touch on that topic. Nevertheless, good luck with your action project!
