Blog post#3. Functions of the brain

In this blog post I am specifically going to discuss on the functions of the brain and this is going to help me relate the functions and our thoughts as human beings. The human brain serves several functions and it is a very important organ as far as human survival is concerned. The brain is made up of many parts, each with a specific and important function. The functions include: Control of our ability to balance, walk, talk and eat [1],the brain also coordinates our breathing, blood circulation and heartbeat as human beings [1] furthermore the brain is responsible for our ability to speak, to process and remember information and to make decisions [1] The brain is also a crucial organ for language processing and communication [2] It helps us understand and produce spoken and written language [2] The brain is involved in the generation and regulation of emotions, mood and behavior [2] Regulation of blood pressure is also the brain function [3] It also releases the hormones in the body such as antidiuretic and aldosterone hormone that serves different functions [3] The brain also helps in processing sensory information [3] The brain has three main parts that is cerebrum that interprets sights ,touches and sounds, the cerebellum that maintains our balance and posture and brainstem which regulates many automatic functions such as breathing heart beat sleep and wake cycles [3].

    I really enjoyed reading your blog post, it really gave me a more in-depth insight on what part of your brain does what. before reading your post I was aware of most of the functions of the brain but I had particle no idea of the names or functions of the different parts of the brain or really that there’s three different parts. I also enjoyed the diagram.
