My inquiry project is how plate interactions make different types of mountains. This is where mountains are formed by the plates. Mountains are features that make the surrounding beautiful. Mountains have cultural and historical importance I am interested in this topic because I want to know how different mountains are formed when different plates interact. This topic will help me in understanding the boundaries in a much easier way. This topic is also going to help me in my Geography lessons which I learn at school. I will be able to understand them in a better way. My three rounds of research are;
1.Convergent – subduction plates. A convergent boundary is a place of the earth where two or more plates collide and when one plate slides beneath the other the process is called subduction. 2.Convergent -collision plates. Collision is where the tectonic plates move towards each other and collide, and this can cause earthquakes and volcanoes. 3.Divergent plates. This is where the plates move away from each other, and magma rises to construct a crust.
Hi Mary, I was very intrigued by your inquiry project as soon as I read your topic because the formation of mountains has always interested me. This post was quite informative and useful for me. I liked how you included the different types of “plates” for each round of your research. A suggestion from me is that you could research about is what causes these plates to move and shift into the way that it does.
