Topic: Rocks

Comment from Ms. Stuart:
The Kenyan students have been working on making presentations about a topic that they were finding a bit difficult in school. They are now busy writing exams and so I’m putting their slide shows up so that students from Charles Best can see where they are at in the process. None of the slide shows are complete, but we are hoping to finish them on October 25th when the students are done their exams. If you have any thoughts or ideas, please leave the students a comment.

  1. Hey Cynthia,
This is such a great blog post! I think it is so unique that you chose to do your inquiry project on rocks. I have a question for you: Which type of rocks are your favourite? My personal favourite are the Igneous rocks because of their vibrant colours. Below I have provided a link that talks about more different types of rocks and the rock cycle which might help you with your research for your PowerPoint.

Nevertheless, I can’t wait to read your next blog post!

  2. Hello Cynthia,
Your slide shows are very interesting and it definitely stands out from all of the other ones. Because of the commodity of rocks, so many people ignore them. But rocks have many types, uses and information stored within them. Here are some websites that you might find useful in your future researches:

  3. Hey Cynthia
I love rock, which sounds kind of weird. I am that type of person that when they go to the beach ends up with a whole bunch of rocks in their pockets. I think that they are interesting and fascinating to look at. It seems like you have a pretty good grasp on different types of rocks. I have asked some questions which could help you to expand your topic if that’s what you want.

How do rocks become the shape they are?
How do rocks become the colour they are?

I have also found some websites I found, but they are just for reading if you find it interesting. They go into detail about the things that you have already covered.
