Hi! Everyone, I am excited to do this project and to be part of butterfly effect students. We are finishing on our project by the end of October and therefore we do not have enough time to do a full inquiry project. I am going to teach on democracy and specifically the types of democracy. I get it interesting to know how different countries rule themselves and the types of democracy or leadership they use. A question has always been lingering in my mind what type of democracy the developed countries use. What about we use the same type of democracy that has been discovered to be used by the developed countries? I would love to teach my fellow students on democracy and I find it difficult to know what types of democracy are used in different countries that lead to their development. We have two types of democracy that is direct and indirect democracy and every country practices a different one.
I strongly believe that the development of a certain country depends on the type of leadership or democracy that they practice. In this topic, I am going to do more of research on the types of democracy ,principles and the importance of democracy. I will also use more of videos relating to democracy to make my topic engaging and interesting. I request for your ideas on how to make my topic more updating and interesting and to understand the types of democracy used in different country. I hope this will help me teach my fellow students and we will be able to understand this topic better.
Hi Samantha!
Your Blog Post really stuck out to me as I live in a democratic country (Canada), yet I believe that I do not know all the different types of democracy and how they relate to the leadership and development of a country, which is why I was intruiged to keep reading. I really enjoyed reading along and liked the picture you put up of a Parliament since that is an important aspect to democracy.
Upon your request for some ideas to make your topic more developed, I believe that adding some visuals to your future research will be a great way to help your peers get a better understanding of democracy. An example of a visual is to add a World Map illustrating different types of democracies in various countries. You can also include current events and trends going on in democratic countries today as it can both allow you, and your peers to directly relate a real life example to your research.

Hi Samantha,
This sounds like a really interesting topic! I come from a democratic country (Canada), but I really don’t think I know enough about how democracy works on an in depth level and how it relates to other countries. I’m looking forward to following your project as you post, I think I’ll be able to learn a lot from you!
How many types of democracies are there and why do there need to be different types?
Here’s some sites that might interest you for your research: https://www.moadoph.gov.au/explore/democracy/defining-democracy

Good luck with your future posts!

Hi Samantha!
Thank you for touching on a topic such as this for your inquiry project even if it was for a short time! I am currently taking 20th century world history right now, where we learn about events such as democracy, how government systems were put into place, independence, and moreover. Spreading knowledge and awareness about democracy in developing countries vs already developed countries is so important.
To help you in your research, you can also include how democracies have changed over time and the current events that surround your government system in Kenya today! While I may not know much about how the government works over there, a way to help you dig deeper into your inquiry may be to consider how societies in different countries best grow in a democratic regime and benefit from it. Thank you and you did gave way for a very important topic like this since I did not think about how democracy can be different in different countries and affect the people differently.

Hey Samantha,
Studying politics is very interesting and very confusing in my opinion, so good for you for looking into it. You talk about leadership which I also think is very interesting especially when you compare different leaderships around the world and how their country functions.
Here is a link to the Harvard Business Review where they talks about just that and within different cultures.

Here is a link that talks the pros and the con about a Democratic leadership which I hope you will find interesting and use-full
