Hello everyone. I would like to inform you that we are finishing this term at the end of October and so I don’t have enough time to do a full inquiry project. Instead i am going to research about a topic in my course that i find difficult. I will be doing a topic on excretion in the kidneys.
The basic unit of the kidney is the nephron. Nephron has two major parts and this is the renal tubule and the glomerulus. In the renal tubule we have 5 main parts and every part plays a different role. What i find challenging is how to explain the reabsorption of different substances. I am hoping to understand this topic so that i can teach my fellow students because many of the are struggling. I will watch a lot of videos, listen different people and also look for pictures on this topic for more understanding.
Hi!
This sounds like such an interesting topic and something you could learn a lot about other things from! The kidneys are really fascinating and I think you could learn so many things through your research. Do you have any interest in medicine?
Here’s an article that might be of interest to you:

Good luck with your future posts!

Hi Prasin!
Thank you for sharing your inquiry question.
I haven’t learned a lot about the functions and different parts of the kidneys as it is not something that is generally covered in the science courses I am taking. I will be definitely reading your other blogs so that I can learn more about the topic since I think that learning and understanding the human body is something everyone should try and do. We only have one body so learning as much as possible about it is so important as it helps us understand how to keep it as healthy as possible.
A question to think about it: “Are different substances absorbed by different parts of the nephron?”
One article I would recommend you look at is:

Thank you again for sharing your question and good luck with your research!!
Hello Prasin,
I really loved reading your blog post, it was super easy to follow! I really loved how you said you wanted to gain knowledge in this area so you could help other students who are also struggling with the topic, that is so nice of you and I am sure many will really appreciate your help!! I also loved how you showed and said the steps you will take in order to reach your goal to better understand this topic. Planning out steps to reach a goal makes it much easier to attain and being able to have steps to follow is a very good skill! Thank you so much for sharing
here is a resource you could take a look at that explains Kidney excretion in a much easier way to follow!!
