a. What challenges did you overcome throughout this inquiry project? How did you go about
overcoming these challenges?
Some challenges that I was faced with was that almost all of the websites that I could find seemed to have very biased opinions about AI, some extremely positive, and some extremely pessimistic. It was very hard to find the middle ground where everything is as close to the truth as it can be. I overcame this challenge by researching through tens of websites and also using unclassified government files that were available on the internet as those are some of the most unbiased documents. For example, when I was researching if one should trust AI to do jobs like doctors, lawyers, there were a lot of websites saying that it is simply impossible as people should not trust AI, and there are websites that are saying that we should implement it as soon as possible as the AIs are better than the professionals.
b. How did this inquiry change the way you think?
This inquiry helped me discover more about the concept of AI and the future of AI, and it has helped me to discover more about AI by myself instead of blindly trusting social media.
c. How did this investigation impact your future decisions?
This investigation may impact my future decisions about my career choice, as most of my careers could be very possibly replaced by AI, and it should only be a matter of time before everything is fully automatic and most of the jobs are done by AI. Personally, I’ve always wanted to be a lawyer, and after learning about the future of AI, I am now really thinking more deeply of what I want to do and what will I do if the job was taken over by AI?
d. What impact will this investigation have on others locally and/or globally?
I hope my investigation can help people think more deeply about the future, the future of AI, and also potentially help them to find a better choice of employment in the future.
