Blog Post 4: Research on Climax, Falling Action, and Resolution

Hello everyone, in this post I will be expanding on the latter half on my story and picking up where I left off.

At the start of their gift exchanges, Kaya gives Jun a box of agates(1), and abalone shells (2). Jun notices a Geode (3) and re-gifts Kaya one side of them.

Kaya’s flattery at Jun’s action is cut short by the look of slight discomfort on Jun’s face she notices (4). Jun asks to examine her half of the geode back (5). Kaya is initially confused by this, since it was his gift before he re-gifted it to her, so in theory, he should have had enough time to examine it. However, Kaya complies out of friendship.

The moment Jun has the gift back in his grasp, he reveals that he has no intention of giving it back. Kaya feels hurt that he had resorted to such trickery when a simple request, albeit with a good reason, would have sufficed (6).

The story cuts back to Kaya, who reminisces about her relationship with Jun and how she tried desperately to stop him from drifting away (7), and compares him to Hyuck, as besides the scenario that played out “today”, Hyuck and Jun have multiple similarities. The story ends with Kaya getting an ominous feeling about Hyuck, which she hopes won’t treat her like Jun did.
