Blog Post #2: Project Plan

1. Provide three steps for your research with a brief explanation of how this information will lead to addressing your question.

Why do we develop fears/phobias and what can cause them?

To understand how fear can change from childhood to adulthood, we need to know why these fears appear in our lives in the first place. Perhaps fears will change as we grow older because our surroundings and circumstances change, and maybe circumstances and surroundings are what fears stem from. I will have to research this question to know if any of the above is true.

What are the differences in fear/phobia for adults and children?

To see how fears evolve from childhood to adulthood we must first see what is different between the fears, if they are different at all. You cannot know how fears evolve without first knowing what the fears were as a child and what they are currently.

How long do fears/phobias last?

This is important to answering how fears evolve from childhood to adulthood, because if fears normally do not last long then that can tell us that our fears change almost entirely when we grow up. If fears usually last very long, then that can tell us that our fears as adults may just be variations of the fears we had as children.

2. Provide 5 valid sources that might be useful to address the question.

3. Explain how this question will have implications to other individuals and/or my community.

This question can give insight to what fear is and why it happens. If people know more about what fear is, then it will be easier to overcome said fears. If you know where fears stem and how they change through your life, then you can work from there. Fear can be crippling for some, and I think it would be very beneficial if people knew how to counter fear at least a little bit.
