Hello, today I will be reflecting on what I had learnt and encountered throughout the inquiry project.
a. What challenges did you overcome throughout this inquiry project? How did you go about
overcoming these challenges?
There are many challenges that I encountered throughout this inquiry project. For example, when I was researching for superpowers around the world, I discovered how biased most of the articles are, and how I could make my blog post unbiased was a big problem. I overcame the problem by researching articles, authors from various countries, institutes, and academic articles written by other students. After researching, I concluded the list of websites that I would use to collect research and have trustworthy arguments and facts that would support it.
b. How did this inquiry change the way you think?
This inquiry changed the way I think about various countries and cultures, and make me appreciate what humanity was able to achieve. Holding up a wealthy, developing, peaceful, and not corrupted country is almost impossible due to the factors of human nature and the limits of people, but we had arguably achieved it. Another “thing” I learnt is that most of the time, powerful countries falls off the podium because of reasons like other country attacking them, corruption within, or even having an average emperor can sometimes result in the death of a brilliant empire. Without war, greed, and many human imperfections, we would achieve much more in the time that we had. But, at the end of the day, we should still be grateful for the world that we live in because in another universe, our civilizations could have ended in Steam Era.
c. How did this investigation impact your future decisions?
This investigation led me to become more interested in studying and learning about history, although I want to become either a lawyer or doctor in the future, I’ve decided to learn History on the side as a little fun activity.
d. What impact will this investigation have on others locally and/or globally?
This investigation might lead to others realizing that the world changes very fast, and the best we can do is go with the flow. Although going with the flow might be a great idea, but sometimes staying in one spot might also be a great idea. Despite the changes around the world, China was still able to stay in the same spot and came back to the top. At the end of the day, don’t let anyone talk you out of something that you believe.
