BLOG POST 1

  1. a) What are your 3 most important values?

Based on the values I was given; I think my 3 most important values would be A) I believe that everyone should have the same opportunities and rights. It is particularly important that people are treated equally because we are all equal. G) I believe people should be noticed for their efforts and contributions. I believe it’s especially important to recognize people’s achievements to help them feel pride in themselves for the activities they completed. U. I believe it is important to fulfill your commitments. Following through is a valuable skill, commitment grows relationships so a lack of commitment can have a negative effect.

  1. b) What are your 3 least important values?

Based on the values I was given; I think the 3 least important values would be C) Tradition, although tradition is important to some, I believe that not every tradition should be expected to be carried on by a different person who may have different values than the people carrying on the tradition before. I personally am not to huge into traditions. E) Innovation, I believe that in some situations new is better but not in all situations. T. Spiritual Growth, I view this the same as traditions where it may be important to some, but spiritual growth is not very highlighted in my personal life.

  1. Do you agree with the results? What do these values mean to you?

My three most important values were equality, that people should be noticed for their efforts and contributions, and it is important to fulfill your commitment. I do agree that these results were accurate. Every day I try to incorporate these values into my everyday life. Starting off with equality, I would say this is the most relevant one to me not because I think it’s most important but because of how much it recurs in my life every day. In my life, I try to take time out of my day to make sure people feel equal and included by doing little acts like holding the door for someone open at a store. My second important value is that people should be noticed for their efforts and contributions. A way I like to help people feel appreciated is by complimenting something they’re wearing. I try to give out at least 5 compliments a day. And finally, it is important to fulfill your commitment. Personally, I find that it is very crucial to keep promises. Of course, there can be things that come up that intercept plans, but I tend to try to follow through with my plans out of respect for the other people involved.

My 3 least important values were Tradition, innovation, and spiritual growth. I agree with this because these are values that I do not incorporate into my life as often. Tradition is something that I have a little bit within my life like how I always have strawberry ice cream on my birthday. With that being said I have small traditions, but I would not say it’s a huge thing I value in my life. Secondly, innovation, living in such a fast-paced world of creating new inventions I do see a lot of innovation but I personally do not make noticeably big new changes very often.

4.) Research United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

  1. a) Which one aligns with your values most?

After reading all the United Nations 17 sustainable development goals, I chose the one that lines up with my values the most, which is reduced inequality. I believe its a very important value that everyone should prioritize. Unfortunately, there are still a lot of people who do not think this way. However, there are a lot of people who are starting to bring more light to this situation.

  1. b) Which one is your passion Why?

I think my passion would have to be climate action. I chose this since my group and I’s goal is to improve the environment. I am very passionate about climate action because this is the only earth that we have and it deserves to be treated with respect. Everything helps, for example making sure to recycle or picking up a piece of garbage safely and throwing it away.

  1. c) Give one specific action you would like to apply to address this goal.

I am still not very sure of the action my group took. We brainstormed and came up with a few ideas that will help reduce inequality even if it is just on a small scale. We are still working towards creating a plan that works for everyone but hopefully, we can meet sometime this week to work together.
