Hey again everyone! If you haven’t gotten around to reading this inquiry project’s first blog post, my inquiry question is “Why are humans virtually always in conflict?” This topic has been of incredible interest to me and I hope to discover some interesting things throughout my research.
Research Rounds:
- What is the history of conflict within our species? (This will provide readers with some background information on how our ancestors experienced conflict and will help us learn for how long humans have been in conflict)
- Why do humans start conflicts? (This will allow readers to learn and understand what plants the seed that blossoms into human conflict)
- Is conflict hardwired in human nature? (This will help readers understand whether or not the predisposition for conflict is engrained in the human psyche)

This question will most definitely have implications for other individuals and/or my community. Conflict is unfortunately still incredibly relevant in today’s world; you simply have to take a glance at the news or social media to see that. The war against terror in the Middle East, the Palestine conflict, the Russia/Ukraine tensions. There is a myriad of different conflicts taking place all across the globe, threatening people’s lives and livelihoods each and every day. By doing this inquiry project, I aim to educate myself and my fellow students on a major part of our history, the reasons behind it, as well as the human psyche.
Hello Victor,
Your blog post is fascinating; as someone who loves history, I have wondered why humanity can’t take a break from the wars that are constantly going on? Napoleon Bonaparte, Julius Caesar, Frederick the Great, Prince Eugene of Savoy, and Alexander the Great, were all recognized for their excellent military skills. I have always wondered what the actual reasons behind those wars were.
Good luck with your research!
