Hi Everyone it’s Lucas!
I’m 14 years old and I am a grade 9 student at Charles Best. I came from Hillcrest Middle school and I was born in Taiwan. One thing I really like about high school is the block schedule. There are only two to three classes a day and each block is about 2 hours. The long class time allows me to put in my full effort and focus on the course. I currently have PHE and EAL in my quarter one class.
One thing that is special about me is that I can speak three languages fluently. My grandma’s first language is Cantonese and she taught me the language when I was at a very young age. When I see my grandma, I still speak Cantonese to her, and she always encouraged me to speak it more often so I won’t forget it. I also speak Mandarin and that’s because I was born in Taiwan and it was the official language there. The third language I speak is English. I’m really happy that I could speak multiple languages because I could travel to many countries and not having to worry about the language barrier. I could also make more friends that speak different languages.
In my leisure time, I enjoy a variety of sports such as scootering, mountain biking, and snowboarding. I like scootering mainly because of the wide variety of tricks you could learn and the feeling of accomplishment when you land a new trick. I also like the creativity in scootering. You could come up with sick combos (the combination of the tricks you do) and sometimes even come up with new tricks. I also enjoy doing art such as drawing, photoshop, and sketching. I enjoy photoshop especially because of the refreshing images you could create. Sometimes when I’m on YouTube, I watch videos of people doing photoshop to get better ideas and learn new functions.
I also enjoy camping a lot! This is a picture of me from a hiking camping trip I did this summer. I went on this trip with my friend and his family. It took us 8 hours to hike up the mountain with our heavy backpack. I like camping because of the amazing places you can go to and the skills you learn.
This is my most recent photoshop artwork. I first drew the outline on paper and put together the digital design on photoshop. On the t-shirt, the images resembles the music I like to listen to.

Wow it was so nice reading about you. You can speak three languages and that is a very good advantage because you can travel to different parts of the world and speak their language. Do you love speaking all the three languages?
It was also nice to know that you enjoy sports during your leisure, because many teenagers waste time doing bad things such as taking drugs and they spoil their lives. What do you love most about camping?

I mostly speak mandarin at home with my parents. I learned Cantonese from my grandma when I was really young so that is the language I use to speak with her. I speak English outside of my home.
