A DAY IN QUARANTINE by Mariana C

Hi everyone! This times have been both good and bad in a couple different ways. I’ll explain why in just a sec. Though school has been closed for a while now, life for me continues to be basically normal. This is what my routine looks like:

7:00 I wake up to an alarm since I am trying to keep my routine

Usually by 8:30 I’ll walk my dog, sometimes if the weather is nice we will go to the dog park

10:30 I begin to work on my school stuff, I will do some homework and I have also been doing a Chemistry 11 workbook to review for next year Chemistry 12.

12:00 I eat my lunch and i usually take a 30 minute break before getting back to work

3:00 I finish up my homework and then I have some free time to watch TV, or cook, clean, or whatever else is on my to do list. I like to clean my house before my parents come home from work so that they get to relax once they are home

5:00 I walk my dog for the second time. Usually this is a longer walk.

7:00 My family and I eat dinner around this time. After dinner, we watch TV. This is probably my favorite part of the day since we are all together doing something we all enjoy.

10:00 Is usually the time we all go to bed, sometimes before sleeping i put on a guided meditation to help me sleep better.

This is what a day looks like for me. The positive things about having to stay at home all the time is that I have become more productive than I was before. I have learnt new skills like baking or cooking new things, training my dog new tricks, writing, drawing, and have learnt 3 new songs on the piano. Even though this are bad times for everyone, I am very thankful that I have been able to get some joy out of it ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Hey Mariana!

Let me start off by saying how impressed I am that you’ve been waking up in the morning…I wish I could say the same for myself, but I’m a sucker for sleeping in. However, I can really relate to you when you wrote that quarantine is allowing you to be very productive and try new things. I have also been taking advantage of this time by baking and cooking – just like you!

For your next post, I’d love to hear more about the challenges and/or the positives of your quarantine experience. I’d like to compare and contrast your experience with my own. I suspect we’d have a lot more in common than we might think… ๐Ÿ™‚

    Overall, great job! Stay healthy!
