Alien Interactions with Past Civilizations
Hello. In this round of research, we’ll be looking at a mysterious underground city that some people speculate was created by aliens.
First of all, the underground city of Derinkuyu in Turkey is one of the largest in the world. It can house over 20,000 people and is over 250 feet deep. It’s in the Cappadocia region and it carved into the volcanic rock. Though we don’t know who really created the underground city, it’s a popular opinion that it was started by the Phrygians from 900 to 800BC. It’s thought that the Christians used the shelter to escape persecution by the Romans. Whoever designed the underground city used round stone doors weighing up to 1,000 lbs. There are more than 50 ventilation shafts for air and air ducts all over the structure. (1) Even with modern technology, this would be an extremely difficult thing to build so how could these ancient cultures have built them? There are many mysteries when it comes to this underground city because we don’t know who built it or what made them recede to it. (2) The Cappadocia Region of Turkey was part of the Zoroastrian Empire. Zoroastrianism is one of the oldest religions on earth. Founded sometime before the 6th century BC, the creator and chief god of the religion is Ahura Mazda. In the second chapter of the Zoroastrian sacred text, the Vendidad, Ahura Mazda saves mankind from a global environmental disaster. The great prophet Yima was instructed to build an underground refuge much like Derinkuyu. They were trying to escape from an ice age. The Vendidad called this “the evil winters.” Climatologists believe the last ice age was around 18,000 years ago and ended around 10,000 BC. Since carbon dating stone isn’t possible, we can’t know how old the structure is.
Ahura Mazda gave the Zoroastrians instructions on how to build this extremely complex structure. Ahura is also known as the sky god so is it possible that Ahura Mazda was an alien who had a deep understanding of architecture and science? Some say the security system hints at a more ominous reason behind why there were people living there. The 1,000 lbs doors on rollers can only be opened from one side. You can only open the door from the inside. That lets us infer that they were hiding from someone or something. According to the Vendidad, Ahura Mazda soared through the sky in a diving chariot and waged war against his eternal enemy. Angra Mainyu, the demon of destruction. But, could this have really been some form of a space war between two aliens? It is possible that the underground city was used to protect the people from potential bombings from the aliens. (3)
