Self Reflection – May

Hello again! It’s been a exhausting couple of weeks, and I am looking forward to the end of all of this. In the meantime, I am going to keep focusing on keeping myself active, healthy, and happy.

1.) What is something you did for your body?

While school was still open, I was always keeping active, so I’m trying to do the same right now. It’s difficult, but doable. A good example of this would be yesterday, when I went on the crunch! It’s pretty exhausting, but I know it’s worth it. It’ll also help me get back in shape for my next soccer season.

2.) What is something you did for your mind?

I’ve been making sure I keep myself thinking, and I do this by watching documentaries, playing puzzle solving games, and of course, doing my schoolwork. One of my favorite documentaries I’ve seen so far was “Our Planet”. I thought it was really great because each episode focused on a certain habitat (like grasslands), and discussed how it’s thriving and how it’s being threatened.

3.) What is something you did for your happiness?

I’ve been trying to talk with my friends over the phone at least once a day, because it’s really important to me to keep that connection going. With everything that’s going on, it’s very easy to fall out of touch, and I want to make sure that doesn’t happen. I’ve also been doing more art, which is a passion I never really pursued due to lack of time. Now that I’m always home, I have a little bit of extra time to practise 😊

4.) What is something you did for someone else?

Some nights and afternoons, I help my little brother with his homework. He’s in French emersion, and my parents don’t know French too well, so sometimes they ask me to lend a hand. I really like helping him because I get to spend some extra time with him, and it makes me feel good to help others. The other day, I helped him read a story about the three little pigs, and we looked up definitions to some of the harder words.

I hope you are all doing well,

  1. Hi Jasmine,

I am glad to see how well you have been keeping up with everything! I also feel like it’s been really exhausting and easy to lose motivation, but it is great to be able to find different things to occupy yourself with to keep healthy and happy.

I have also been calling and video chatting friends and staying in contact with them, and I think that is one of the most valuable things during this time. I couldn’t begin to imagine what it would be like to not be able to contact friends or family.

You wrote that you have been working on art, and that is so great that you have been able to revisit a hobby! I would love to see pictures of the art you have been working on.

I look forward to viewing your future posts about your project!
