Self Reflection #2

Self-Reflection:

1.) What is something you did for your body?

For my body this week I did some home workouts using Nike Training Club. The app gives me workout plans and routines to reach my goals. I also went on a couple runs around the block. It was nice to get some fresh air and listen to music while running. Lastly, I walked my dog. He definitely enjoyed the fresh air as well. These activities helped my body feel active and strong. I have also been doing yoga to increase my flexibility. It definitely makes workouts easier because my body feels more ready to workout.

2.) What is something you did for your mind?

For my mind I have been completing my homework as soon as I get it. This results in a sense of clarity and accomplishment. Getting work done early makes me feel in control and on track. I have still been journaling my day and thoughts. Putting my thoughts on a page organizes what’s going through my head. I have also been meditating to remind myself that in moments of stress there is still calm. Lastly, I have been trying to find new music. Music influences how I feel. When I have music I don’t like, I’m not as productive or motivated. It is tiring to go through a lot of bad music to find good songs but in the end it is worth it. If anyone has song suggestions, let me know.

3.) What is something you did for your happiness?

For my happiness I have been binging Prison Break and reading a book. I have also been knitting a hat. Making things seems to make me happy. The hat is almost done! Recently I learned how to embroider. I haven’t actually made anything yet though. Hopefully soon! A lot of my happiness has also been coming from talking to friends. I have been talking to a few of my friends and even branching out and talking to people that I’m not super close yet.

4.) What is something you did for someone else?

For others this week I have been calling friends and family to check in on them and talk. I think the help goes both ways with this because we all benefit from talking to others and getting in some social time. I recently made a painting and poster/card for my friend because it was her birthday. I think it really cheered her up. Especially because she couldn’t have a birthday party.

  1. Hey Shieva!

    Nice reflection!

Like you, I have been trying to get my homework done right away too. Especially being a home right now, it can be so easy to procrastinate and put off work, so I am trying to do it the same day it gets assigned unless it’s a project or bigger assignment.
I also read that you are watching Prison Break! Great show! I watched it a few years ago and like you, I binged it. Being stuck in quarantine has made it super hard to not binge a TV show. I hope you are liking Prison Break! I recently finished watching the Netflix documentary series Tiger King, which I found super interesting. I also watched the new TV series Outer Banks which was a teen, action mystery.

It’s super nice that you are taking extra care to make your friends birthday extra special during the quarantine!

    Thanks for sharing! Take care!
