Think about the past week and answer the following questions. As with all reflections, multiple, specific examples to back up your responses are needed for meeting highest expectations. See reflection learning map. Please write answers in a different colour.
1.) What is something you did for your body?
I have to do a routine for P.E. everyday since we can’t do anything at school. Because of this I have been doing it everyday, that included on the weekends as we have to do it then as well.
2.) What is something you did for your mind?
I have been doing my school work because I still have to and it’s easy to see why. I don’t know if the stress is good for my mind, but learning new things is and that is why I mention it here.
3.) What is something you did for your happiness?
Talking to my friends and playing video games with them. I enjoy playing video, especially with other people, because of this I have been talking to my friends over discords as we play games together.
4.) What is something you did for someone else?
I play basketball with my brother; this is good because its helps keep us sane and it keeps us from going mental. Going outside and enjoying the fresh air is something that is really helpful since we are inside all the time now. I would like to mention that we have a basketball hoop at our house, I have not been going to parks and have still been respecting the social distancing rules.
Also, I couldn’t figure out how to make my answers a different colour on this, so I made the questions bold instead so that it’s easier to distinguish.
Hi Matthew!
It’s good to see that you are able to do some things to keep your mind and body healthy during this time. I think it’s good that your P.E. teacher is having you guys do exercise routines every day as that’s a great way to keep both your physical and mental health up. When you’re in grade 11 and 12, unless you choose to take a P.E. class, you have to rely on your own motivation to get exercising. Therefore, it’s a good idea to make daily exercise a habit now so that it comes easier as you grow older.
That said, playing video games can also be good for your mental health as like you said, you can play with other people and this is a great way to connect with people while still practicing physical distancing. I think it’s important that we stay in touch with friends and extended family, and that’s one of the reasons why technology and the internet has become so crucial.
Keep up the good work!
