MARINE CONSERVATION

Hi everyone hope you are fine,I would like to introduce my first topic to you,MARINE CONSERVATION.

INTRODUCTION TO MARINE CONSERVATION


Marine conservation was started the United States of AMERICA in the 1960s and took off in 1972 hence forming Marine Protection,Research,and Sanctuaries Act (MPRSA) passed hence beginning the movement.Marine Conservation is the study of marine plants,animal resources and ecosystem functions or it is the protection and preservation of ecosystems in ocean and seas through planned managment in order to prevent the exploitation of these resources.

WHY IS MARINE CONSERVATION IMPORTANT?


  • Ocean generate half of the oxygen we breathe and,at any given moment,they contain more than 97% of the world”s water.

  • Oceans provides at least a 6th of the animal protein people eat.

  • Oceans absorbs carbon dioxide from the atmosphere  hence reducing climate change impacts.

    Great first post! You did a great job on introducing your topic and the importance/history of it. Perhaps in your future posts you could go more in depth of what you would like to accomplish throughout the entirety of the project as it goes along. Marine conservation is a very interesting topic and could go into many different directions whether you are planning to do an inquiry or action project.
